Week 6: Hyped for Homecoming

Hi all!! I hope you all have had a great week. 

I started this week with my dad coming up on Sunday for Kappa Alpha Theta Dudes Day. I love it when Theta gives us the opportunity to show our parents and loved ones a sneak peek into our college life. This year's dudes day consisted of a cornhole tournament and just hanging out with our dudes. My dad and I opted out of the cornhole and didn't eat at the house, and instead went to the new Route 69 brewery in Ada for a late lunch. I would recommend checking it out if you haven't already.

My week has been nothing less than jam-packed per usual. My Monday had something planned every hour of the day, starting at 11 am all the way until 7:30 pm. The rest of the days this week were still busy, but nothing compared to what Monday was like. 

I am so excited for Ohio Northern's upcoming Homecoming celebrations this weekend. In Theta, we usually participate in the parade and have a get-together with our alumni. This year, we are having our “tailgate” at the Theta house after we participate in the parade. I am so excited to see our alumni who come back, including my friend Gwen.

A few moments during homecoming weekend that I also enjoy are watching the band, cheerleaders, and, of course, seeing who wins homecoming royalty.

As it's my last Homecoming as a collegiate at Ohio Northern, it's bittersweet that it's my last. I didn't ever take much advantage of previous homecoming activities, so I'm going to make sure I get to do everything I want this weekend. I am also so excited to see what future homecoming celebrations are like, and I can't wait to experience homecoming as an alum.

All this to say that school craziness has got me ready for a nice, relaxing fall break soon.

    First off, I LOVE Route 69 Brewery. You and your dad made such a great choice going there. Second, I totally relate to the busy school schedule and life in general. While I am excited for homecoming weekend, I am definitely looking forward to fall break too. Sending you lots of love and good health during this busy time, Althea!

    It sounds like you had a wonderful weekend with your dad! I am so glad you were able to spend time with him. Have fun this weekend; it sounds like you have many fun activities planned!

Welcome back to All In With Althea! I honestly missed being able to update this blog; it's like a visual diary, and I love being able to share my life in this way!  My first week back has been hectic to say the least!  I started out by moving in last Tuesday for Klondike's Crew to help move in the new freshmen here at ONU. Chapter #7: Silly Snapchat

Chapter #7:      Snapchat is widely known especially among Generation Z. It is rare if someone around my age doesn't use Snapchat. Snapchat is a photo messaging app where you can send photos back and forth with friends and family or post them to your story for your followers to see what you may be up to. In the graph shown in the book, it shows that from the 1st quarter of 2024 to the 1st quarter of 2022 the number of active daily users has had a steady increase each quarter of the year.     Within the statistics of Snapchat, the most used age is what I expected which ranges from 18 to 24. But the users of men and women are almost the same which is rare for almost the same amount which is 51% of females to 49% of males. When looking at the other stats I was surprised to see the amount of users in each country and how India surpasses the United States. Chapter #6: Twitter... I mean X

Chapter #6:     X is more commonly known as its former name Twitter whereas X was created by Elon Musk after he bought Twitter back in July of 2023. I know that it is popular but I haven't even opened the app since I was told to download it in my high school journalism class.      X allows users to share a post with less than 280 characters and images if they choose to do so. Today X has over 368 million monthly users that send over 6,000 posts every second. X's original purpose was for friends to communicate. Now it is a worldwide social networking site. People go to X now for daily news, sports, and politics.       Marketing with X is key. It allows the brand or company to have a voice and gives them the opportunity to engage with customers and followers more easily compared to other platforms.       I nfluencers are a major part of marketing in 2024.
