Week 8: Finally Sweater Weather

Fall break was wonderful. I was productive, and I got to relax and spend time with my family. I started my break by heading out of Ada around 10:30 am since it's only a one-and-a-half-hour drive home. During the drive, I was of course listening to the new Taylor Swift album, The Life of a Showgirl.

Once I got home and got some coffee, I went to pick up my friend from her house. We got to hang out all day and catch up on what is happening in each other's lives.

Saturday was my productive day of the break. My mom and I decided that my room and closet were out of control, and normally I wouldn't agree, but this time I did easily agree. We deep-cleaned the entire room and closet, including vacuuming, dusting, and quite literally took everything I owned out of my room to figure out how we should organize my space, and it only in the end took about three hours, which I would say isn't too bad.

On Saturday, I was also able to get some errands done, which felt nice to complete since a lot of the errands I needed to do were things around my hometown.

While on fall break, my family made all the food that they know I love, which is super sweet since they know I miss it. We had a baked Vodka Pasta, Sushi (well, crab rangoons for me since I can't eat anything with seafood that could be raw or not cooked all the way due to my transplant) and then one night we did breakfast for dinner which is a throwback to my childhood because every Wednesday we called it Wacky Wednesday based off the Dr. Seuss book so we had waffles one night.

Another thing that was great about fall break was the lowering temperatures outside compared to what it has been. I am finally able to wear sweatshirts and sweaters without getting overheated, which is one of my favorite parts of fall.

Overall, I had a pretty good fall break, and I hope everyone else did as well!

  1. It sounds like you had a great fall break at home! I love having breakfast for dinner, somehow it's more enjoyable in the evening haha. I am also so excited that the temperature is getting lower, right now is the perfect conditions for sweatpants and a hoodie to class.

  4. Cleaning over fall break is my demise. Same with any other break! I see it as a break so I totally just leave my room a mess until I finally give up and realize it needs to be cleaned.
