I turned 22 this past Tuesday! Something you may not know about me is that I'm a big birthday person. I love my birthday, celebrating other people's birthdays, and giving birthday gifts. Basically, birthdays are my jam. I just love it all. Well, anyway, as mentioned in the title of this week's post, it's “My Taylor Swift Year,” meaning in pop culture, fans of Taylor Swift and others have basically coined the term based on her song called “22,” and wouldn't you know that's my age, so I thought it would be a perfect title.

This year's birthday was like any day lately for me, super busy. I started the day by going to the library to get some schoolwork done, which didn't go too well because I was a bit distracted by friends. I then went to get my free birthday drink at Starbucks and chill until class. I lucked out and didn't have to go to my Communications Senior Thesis class, and only had Spanish and Social Media Strategies and Campaigns. After classes, I went to the Theta house, and we had a volleyball social with Zeta Tau Alpha. In lieu of my knees and clumsiness, I opted out of playing and watched from the sidelines. I finally ended the day by going to Taco Bell with my roommate and watching Dancing with the Stars. I had an awesome and busy birthday, but it definitely makes me reflect on how far I've come in the last year in several different ways.

School has also been ramping up, and being in six classes and doing a capstone project for my Communications Studies major, plus it being my senior year, is no joke. I am not gonna lie, balancing everything is not the easiest, but I'm learning as we go, and learning to balance everything is a life skill. As for an update on our Social Media Strategies client project, we have started to make way with communication and figuring out what our group's and our client's project priority list is. Although at this point we have not completed much, I am excited to continue to work with my group and our client, Switchbox.

  1. Happy Taylor Swift Year!!!! This is so exciting, I love birthday's too. My favorite thing to do is get all of the freebies, especially Starbucks! I can't wait to see what your group does for Switchbox this semester.
