Week 3: Making The Most Of My Senior Year
Hey, I hope you all have had a great week!
This past week has been crazy for me, as I've said the last two weeks, and it looks like it'll be that way for a little while longer. I really don't want to complain, though, since I know at this time next year I'll most likely be missing these moments that I'm currently living. That being said, my goal, as I may have mentioned previously, is to really make the most of this last year at Ohio Northern. This has included me joining three new clubs, PRSSA, Delight, and, as mentioned before, the art club. I know this probably sounds crazy, but I thrive off being busy, and my thought is, when will I ever get to be a part of any of this again, so I'm going for it.
My school update of the week is that we started our Social Media Strategies and Campaigns group project. After the clients' presentations, we were asked to rank them in order of our wanting to work with them. I was fortunate enough to receive my top choice, a company called Switchbox. Our first assignment was for us to create a group project contract and sign it. I am so far feeling excited and ready to work with our client and work in a group setting. I feel like this will be very beneficial to all of us navigating our senior years and figuring out future career opportunities and ideas. That's about as far as we have gotten at this point on that, but I will continue to update as my group and I make progress.
Another thing I've been keeping myself busy with is helping prepare for Bid Day this coming Sunday. Now that it's just a few days away, it's crunch time. A few of us spent all of this past Sunday tracing, painting, and prepping all the decorations for the big day. I cannot wait to see not only our theme but all of the other themes come together as well.
On Sunday, I also received a FaceTime from my sister Ruby (which shocked me because it's out of character for her to contact me first). But I guess since she's now in college out of state and several hours away, she actually wants to talk to me now. The call was just her rambling about whatever, I guess she needed to say since her roommates left her this past weekend, but I'll take it if she cares enough to tell me. Whether I would like to admit it or not, I think that the distance has helped us grow closer. I guess the saying distance makes the heart grow fonder is true even if it is family.
You are so right about missing these these crazy moments next year. I can't believe that we have less than a year before everything changes! Let's make the most of the time we've got here at Ohio Northern :)
ReplyDeleteI noticed the same thing about my sister! When I left for college, she contacted me more which just like you, truly shocked me. It is crazy how much missing your family really makes you closer with them.
ReplyDeleteYou are spot on with the fact that all of the moments that might be crazy now will be missed next year. Ohio Northern has brought so many great things for me over the years and it sounds like it has for you too. Also good luck with Bid Day.
