Week 4: Recruitment Recap!
I am so tired, actually, scratch that, I am EXHAUSTED. I know I sound dramatic, but recruitment took everything out of me. It also doesn't help that once again, I got sick at some point during this time. As mentioned several times throughout my blogging journey, I am no stranger to not feeling 100% healthy a lot of the time. I swear it's from a million combinations of potential answers, but meeting so many new people and being constantly surrounded by people, not only in class but also in the recruitment, my immune system was bound to become overwhelmed.
Besides getting sick, recruitment was so much fun! I got to meet and talk to so many amazing people throughout this recruitment season. I love the ONU Greek life community so much, and every girl I've met is so sweet.
Getting sick wasn't the only thing that went wrong for me because that's just my luck. If you know anything about me, I am the most clumsy and uncoordinated person ever! Saturday morning, I was walking to the Theta house in affinity from my apartment in my full outfit and heels, ready for Preference, which is the final round. I was nearly there, and I didn't notice I wasn't walking right, and the next thing you know, I'm on the ground. It turns out I fell on the concrete because when I took a step, the strap broke off my heel. Thankfully, I was around the corner, and I hopped the rest of the way, but what I didn't notice because of my natural clumsiness and high pain tolerance is that when I fell, I scraped my knees open and was bleeding. Thankfully, we have a lot of nursing majors in Theta, and the house girls had stuff to clean up my scraps and cuts, so they sat me down, and they cleaned up the blood off of me. Everyone was concerned but me about the situation, I was just laughing and said Take pictures, I wanna remember this. It's moments like these I remember why these girls are my sorority sisters, because they'll both laugh and ask if I'm good, and they will literally help wipe blood off me.
In Theta, we got 10 amazing girls, and as a senior and being officially the old one in the chapter, I'm so excited to see them grow in our chapter, and I see myself as a freshman three years ago in their shoes as a new member. I simply cannot believe that I'm now the age that I looked up to not too long ago.
